ASTM E23, EN 10045-2, ISO 148, GOST 9454-78 Automated Impact Testing of Charpy and Izod Specimens
Engineered product designs requiring high impact energy values of up to 900J can be obtained using our MPX Series of Motorized Impact Testers. This pendulum-style machine performs testing to meet the following specifications: ASTM E23, EN 10045-2, ISO 148, and GOST 9454-78. Our test also requires that the latest safety features be used to protect the machine operator at the increased impact energy values.
We chose the MPX because the equipment provides up to 900 J capacity for either Charpy or Izod applications. A fully enclosed, interlocked guard is provided to keep the operator safely away from moving parts. The guard is designed with two access doors for specimen retrieval and servicing along with a specimen placement door. Transparent lexan panels permit the operator to view the impact test at all times. The machine includes a motorized return of the hammer to the release point to eliminate any operator lifting of the hammer preventing injury. The impact tester uses Fracta Software™ for simple data acquisition and display of impact energy values.
