Radial Testing of Vascular Stents (ASTM F2079 and ASTM F2477)

Radial testing of stents and other interventional devices is critical to their development as radial compression and expansion best simulate the contraction of these vessels as blood is pumped through the body.  We partnered with Machine Solutions Incorporated (MSI), an innovative manufacturer of proprietary mechanical solutions for the medical device industry, to provide a radial testing solution that is compatible with our 5500 series universal testing systems

The RX550 System is typically used for smaller devices like: balloon expandable stents, self-expanding stents, collagen plugs, embolic filters and other basket type filter products. The RX650 System can be utilized for larger devices like stent grafts, vena cava filters or other radially expanding products. Test results can be useful for regulatory submissions, pre-clinical trial testing, competitive product testing and product design.  As an option, either system can be configured with a temperature chamber to simulate physiological conditions.
