Hub Bond Strength of Hypodermic Needles
For the safety of both the patient and the handler, it is imperative to understand the strength of the bond between the needle and the needle hub of the syringe. The bond strength must be able to withstand typical tensile and compressive forces seen in daily use. This bond is commonly tested to several standards, including ISO 11070 Annex I, ISO 7864 Annex E, and ISO 11040-1 Annex G.1. The needle is generally machined out of stainless steel, and the hub is typically made of either glass or plastic.
The challenges of this type of testing are:

Screw side-action grips provide a very simple and efficient method for holding test specimens in a wide range of applications. The dual - acting design of 2710-100 series grips means that jaw faces can be adjusted to accommodate different specimen thicknesses.
